My short novella For All the Gold in the Vault was accepted to be part of Less Than Three Press’ upcoming collection, The Devil’s Land, a wild-west themed collection of queer and MOGAI romance. I don’t have many more details about the collection itself at this time, but I’ll be sure to update as things come along.
For All the Gold in the Vault is about a thieving desperado who becomes entangled in a plot for revenge by a mysterious man outside the law. The young vagabond goes along with the scheme hoping to earn his way out of his own recent brush with the law, but his benefactor’s demands push his morals, and he must navigate the choice of living by his values or earning back his freedom at any cost.
I started FGV (or “Figvee”, as I call it in my head) back in the fall, when I was getting frustrated with my progress on Hellslayer. I decided I wanted to take a break and explore a little bit outside my usual style and comfort zone. (This was also taking place during a period in my life where I was justoverwhelmingly busy, which is how I overlooked bothering to mention much about this project to anyone before now.) FGV was the kind of kick-in-the-pants I needed once I was beginning to struggle with Hellslayer. It ended up being a lot of fun to work on, and I’m glad it turned out as well as it did, even with how much I was shuffling around my plate at the time. I’m so excited that it’s been chosen to be included in this collection, and I’m looking forward to what comes next for it. I’ll keep you all updated as things progress.
