Coming Soon: Lesbians in Space: Where No Man Has Gone Before, “Astral Lace”

I have some very exciting publication news! My short story “Astral Lace” will be included in the sci-fi anthology Lesbians in Space: Where No Man Has Gone Before, published by Space Wizard Science Fantasy. The anthology will release on June 24, 2025, and both the ebook and paperback versions are currently available for preorder. I’ve created a landing page for “Astral Lace” here on my site with all the relevant links, but to save you the clicks:

The cover art for Lesbian in Space: Where No Man Has Gone Before. Two astronauts in space suits hold each other in front of a pink and purple cosmic backdrop.

And here’s a short summary of “Astral Lace”:

Midge is a scavenger who plunders asteroid fields for astral lace, the byproduct of celestial dragons, looking for a big bounty that can get her out of the scrapping game and into a more stable planet-side life. But after landing on the haul of a lifetime, she discovers that she isn’t the only one scraping to get by in the cold, uncaring reaches of space.

To the surprise of no one, I took a science fiction assignment and made it about dragons. All the same, this story was a great opportunity for me to stretch my creative wings in a genre direction I don’t normally explore, and I’m so excited to have had this opportunity to work with the Space Wizard crew and to sit alongside these other amazing contributors in this anthology. And I’m excited most of all to be making and publishing loud and proud queer fiction in these far too interesting times.
